There is alot of information missing here for me to give you clear instructions. First, the NMEA network will share Waypoints, Trails and temperature sensor information. The pod type transducer without the metal temp sensor showing in the bottom of the ducer is a PD/WBL. If you see the 1/4 inch round metal temp sensor when you look at the bottom face of the ducer, it is a PDT/WBL. If the ducer has the short arm that connects to a stainless metal bracket, then the du...

The mapping data that is preloaded into a unit is specific to that unit. When a Waypoint is set, it is set on a longitude and latitude on the face of the earth. This specific spot is marked by the Waypoint and it doesn't matter what map data the Waypoint is overlaid onto, it is still the same "...

Since you are 90% freshwater and only 10% in the salt, go with the 83/200 ducer. The 50 khz is mainly for the denser and deeper salt water but the 83 will work down to 200 feet and deeper in some conditions so it is OK for the salt only 10% of the time.

Since the LMS 480 is a much older model, my guess is that the Navionics card is too big for the unit to read. 10 years ago a 500 MB card was big, now you can't find any smaller than 2 or 4 Gigs. The older units could only read smaller cards that were the standard for that era.
