Re: Lowrance elite 5x dsi

The Elite DSI will have the Downview version of Structure Scan as the only sonar option. No traditional sonar available. The Downview will show bait balls, fish as white dots or small lines when you zoom in on them and trees, brush and rocks like you have never seen on a sonar screen before. But, th...

Re: Help making HDS 7 and HDS 8 talk

I would rather address issues on here so everyone will benefit. By "talk" between HDS units do you mean GPS or Sonar? If GPS, this is done via the NMEA backbone. You will need to go into the menu and check the appropriate items so the units know to share this information. Hit menu twice an...

How and why both units developed problems locking onto the bottom at the same time is peculiar. I don't really have an explanation since they both locked back onto the bottom after a short period of time. Hey Mark, You can plug in the ducer you want to use like Kelly does. The reason is because the black box module that is the brain of the Structure Scan will only accommodate one ducer at a time. Otherwise you will need to purchase two separate LSS-1's and plug in the module that you want to use.
