The Elite DSI will have the Downview version of Structure Scan as the only sonar option. No traditional sonar available. The Downview will show bait balls, fish as white dots or small lines when you zoom in on them and trees, brush and rocks like you have never seen on a sonar screen before. But, th...

Re: Help making HDS 7 and HDS 8 talk
I would rather address issues on here so everyone will benefit. By "talk" between HDS units do you mean GPS or Sonar? If GPS, this is done via the NMEA backbone. You will need to go into the menu and check the appropriate items so the units know to share this information. Hit menu twice an...

Re: Problems with two units on the same boat
How and why both units developed problems locking onto the bottom at the same time is peculiar. I don't really have an explanation since they both locked back onto the bottom after a short period of time. If a unit doesn't lock on the bottom and never does again, then we can try to identify the prob...

The thin vertical lines can be interference with the second transducer in the boat being on at the same time. The large bold lines that appear when you step on the trolling motor are electrical interference caused by the trolling motor. Either the ground wire inside the shaft is missing or has a bad...

I'm thinking that most bass boats have two units on them, one at the console and one at the bow. Let's say the 520 with issues was at the bow, take it and plug it in at the console (providing the power and transducer are Lowrance blue connectors) and assuming that the console unit works fine indicat...

Check the software in the 520. Make sure it is 2.5, if not go to lowrance.com and update the unit. Take the unit to another location that works correctly and plug it in there. If the unit works fine there, then it is your transducer that is bad. If the unit still doesn't work properly then check the...

That sounds like a low power issue. Somehow there must be a dip in the voltage while you trim. It may be a loose wire somewhere that is creating a dip in power instead of a surge in power. Hey Mark, You can plug in the ducer you want to use like Kelly does. The reason is because the black box module that is the brain of the Structure Scan will only accommodate one ducer at a time. Otherwise you will need to purchase two separate LSS-1's and plug in the module that you want to use.

Yes the LSS-1, Structure Scan can be mounted on the trolling motor. It works just fine.
