Re: Fishing Rancho Murieta lakes
It used to be fairly easy to get into RM, but poaching got so bad and the fish got so depleted, about a year ago they posted all three lakes and started prosecuting non-residents for trespassing. Their residents and security now contact the sheriffs department and they respond. Something to consider.

Nice choice on the reel...all you need to do now is find an Okuma swimbait stick that you feel will fit your style of fishing. I own a half dozen of them...bought them when they first came out and have never had a problem with any of them. Best bang for your buck on the market...no question. It seem...

I've been fishing Matt's Original and Ultimate soft BG baits for years and have caught several quality fish with them using them many different ways. I've been a diesel guy forever. There was a time when I didn't even consider a gas rig because the upside of a diesel for pulling heavy stock trailers and the price of diesel fuel made it an easy choice. I currently own a diesel, but I'm sure it's my last one. Now, a boat is the heaviest towing chal...

I have caught a couple small fish using the technique it but nothing significant. I saw it on a TV show where they were targeting smalljaws and figured I'd give it a shot on LMB's. I didn't use a bobber though...I took the hooks off of an older Spook bait and used it as the float. Improved my castin...

Wherever you choose to throw them be sure to fish them all the way back to the boat. I can't tell you how many times I have had a swimbait crushed at the boat. It's frustrating when you've gone hours without a bite and one slams it at the boat and you're not ready because you're already looking for ...

I agree with what Rich said, but I got a different take from your question. As with all presentations, you're not going to get many guys to agree with what is "the best" as there are just too many good baits out there not to create a vast array of opinions. To answer your question, I'd hav...

It's always tough to say any bait of this type is as good as a Yamamoto Senko. Having said that, I had Capt. Whitie send me a sample of one and have to say it's as close as any stick bait I have compared previously. I will be putting an order in.

Why would someone buy a new boat 3000 miles away without knowing how to get it home or how much money it will take to get it delivered?
Seems to me, unless money was no object, it would have been more prudent to have researched that before the purchase.

I own several swimbait rods...the Dobyns 795 is without question the most versatile.
You'll need to consider different rods (Dobyns 806/807?) for baits on the larger end of the spectrum, but for most the 795 is a perfect place to start.
