Re: Why did you join Westernbass.com?

I joined Northern California Bass Fishing aka NCBF in about 1996-97. It eventually evolved into Western Bass and I followed it. I joined to learn and make connections. Over the years I have found some very good friends, learned a lot, shared a lot, became a Nutcase and probably spent too much time w...

For the folks that decide to go fishing in July it's a good deal. Now they get a full year of fishing, just like the guy that bought one in January. Just buy one in January, then you will know when it expires, just like before.

Always been that way Whomever owns the boat in Jan pays it for that year. A question. If someone buys my boat after Jan1., are they charged the full property tax, too? If so, should I just include the property tax cost in the sale price, since I won't have the use of the boat for that year? I bough...

That's amazing, especially since it happened to two pumps at the same time. Is it possible something dropped on them or there was some other shock? The pumps in all boats are manufactured by third party companies like Attwood. So this would not be unique to Nitro. I would check with the dealer to se...

The video is heartbreaking. Its not a Drought thing, its a money thing. There selling our water and depleting our resources for Ca pockets. The water is not evaporating. Fred and I went up there today. The Eagle Pass Launch is very usable. Good concrete ramp, but no dock in the water. There is a fair amount of water, it's at a level normal for November. Water temp was 76-78. Fishing was not good for us. We had two confirmed bites and maybe another. We saw lots of ba...

Did they have five years running of drought, like we do today? We have not had 5 years of drought. In 2017 we had so much rain that Lake Oroville overflowed and wiped out the spillway. Clear Lake was over it's banks and flooding. In 2019 Oroville was full to the brim again. In addition to lack of s...

Re: Oroville launch ramps

The only remaining launch ramp at Lake Oroville is the one lane gravel ramp at the Spillway. 4WD is strongly recommended. It is a pretty steep. Success with a 2WD would depend a lot whether it is already wet from other trailers and the weight of your boat, especially when pulling out.

According to DWR/Parks&Recreation there is a concrete ramp at Bidwell down to lake level 665'. Below that it will be a gravel ramp. Spillway ramp is concrete down to 700', then gravel. The new ramp at Loafer creek will be good down to 704'. Easy to launch at Bidwell now and the bite is excellent!
