I have an eye on my Powell that needs replaced. Powell and their awesome customer service provided me with more then enough replacement eyes for the rod.

Does anyone know anyone in the plumas lake area who would replace the eye? How much does it usually cost?

733 or 734 are good for those baits. None of these rod companies make the guides. Sometimes they pop out on any brand of rod. Cheap fix at most tackle shops and most companies would send you a guide so it matches perfect. You are correct, "most" would. Powell did not. I'm not bashing Powe...

I use the 703 C but, after a week of owning the rod, after buying it brand new, one of the eye inserts fell out and Powell refused to fix it, or replace the rod without charging an arm and a leg. I will never buy Powell again.

For the kid, tie on a darter head/ drop shot with almost any color worm (3-6 inch) and he will catch fish all day.
