Re: Dobyns frog rod for both open water and mats?

I use both the 735 and the 736 for my frog fishing, obviously going with the 736 for heavier matted cover. If I am fishing open water, the 735 is the way to go. If you are just looking for one, I would say it depends on how well you can walk a frog. If you are just beginning to learn go with the 735...

Re: Dobyns rod for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits?

I would suggest the 734C for you spinnerbait needs. Moving to a 7'3" from a 7' rod will not be awkward for you at all, especially with the balance of the Dobyn's Rods. It will most likely feel better than the 7' rods you have used in the past. The 734 has a soft enough tip for me to roll cast y...

Congratulations on your great fish! I couldn't agree with you more about the rods. Their balance and sensitivity are second to none and have helped to put more fish in the boat for me too.

Keep catchin em!!

Re: Spinning reel help

Check out the Pflueger reels. You have three models top look at depending on the price you want to spend, President, Medalist and Supreme.

Can't go wrong with any of them. I personally have fallen in love with the Supreme.

Chack out their Website www.pfluegerfishing.com

Re: Archery opener!

Was up near Pinto Ridge this weekend in B1 for the archery opener. Got lucky Sunday, spotted a buck bedded on a hillside and got within 47 yards of it before it stood up. Made a good shot. It was just an average forked horn but its a memory that I'll re-live thousands of times. How did you guys do?

Re: Anyone ever fish Lahontan Res. outside Reno?

I fished Lohanton Res a few years ago. FLW Outdoors had me and my friend smitty fish there as they weree considering holding the Great Outdoor Games there. They ended up having the Great Outdoor Games at Folsome instead. That should tell you how the bass fishing is. We did get on an awesome catfish ...

Re: River 2 sea frogs

I have been using these frogs since they were released and have not had one problem with them. I do not doubt that some of you are encountering this problem but I can tell you that the thread on the front of the frog has nothing to do with it. As a matter of fact, I remove the thread from the front ...

Re: ADVISE ON 2 NEW RODS

I would definitely suggest the Powell 734 for Spinnerbaits and either the Powell 704CB or 706CB for crank and ripbaits. Depending what size crank, ripbaits you use more often should dictate which rod you get. If you throw more of the lighter cranks and ripbaits I would sugest the, and if you throw mo...

Your first post was your response to a very aggravating situation that we were all shocked over. Your second post was an informative p...

Where can I find a kids group...

to give some tackle to? After going through my equipment and tackle, I have some baits and a couple of rods and a few old reels that I would like to donate to kids or teens that would appreciate them. Can someone let me know where I might be able to get in touch with these groups?

I was up in Washington this weekend and was lucky enough to see an Eagle in full colors fly no more than 20 yards from me with something in its talons. Not sure what it was but he took it to a tree about 200 yards from me and sat on a limb making several calls. In about 30 seconds a second Eagle in ...
