My toy poodle loves the boat loves the water and is small enough that he does not get in the way. I know, its a poodle but they are one of the smartest breeds and very easy to train. THey have their moments to be sure. You can't win every tournament just throwing them but they can be tough to beat when that bite is going for those that are good with them. When the bite is on and you can't take advantage it's a tough deal. sTony But can't that be said about any lure specific bit...

You don't need the knowledge you once needed to win tournaments (boy am I going to get ripped on this one) but instead a good strong arm and back and a lot of money invested in them. Well allow me to rip away. I think that is one of the most inaccurate and absurd things I have read on this board in...
Re: Batterys
The great thing about Wal Mart batteries is that you can return them every 12 to 18 months and get a new battery. Keep your receipt and get an new battery every year,. no cost, no questions asked (so far anyway)
Re: Batterys
I have never had a problem with my Everstarts, and the fact that you can get them replaced at any Wal Mart with no questions asked is a bonus for me. I am sure Optimum are great batteries as are other high end batteries, but I do not see the point in spending the extra money when I can get a good ba...

I love my Powell 734 for jigs. It also makes a good open water frog rod and spook rod.
As for Swimbait rods I own two Okumas, (7'6XH for Hudds and big rubber baits, 7'11H for smaller baits and wake baits) they are good rods for a great price made by a company that stands behind their product 100%

Its not what you want to hear but it is easier to just replace it. The first food saver I have stopped working and I looked into trying to get it fixed to no avail. If you need one to get you by till you buy another one let me know and you can barrow mine. It may cost you a duck though.

Its the closest lake to home so I fish it often. I like that the speed limit keeps the wake board boats and jet skis off the lake, but hate idling to my spots. 25MPH seems to make more sense, I doubt that will happen though.

Melones is a great lake. If you get into the Red Eyes you need to move RIGHT AWAY! There are some pigs in that lake as well as good numbers of solid spotted bass.
