Slimy Clear Lake

What do you guys do when Clear Lake gets so slimy? It wasn't like this a week ago but I guess the hot weather has caused the algae to bloom. I am at a loss. Do I look for clearer water (couldn't find any today), fish deeper, just live with it? I could only manage 2 fish today and I know people are c...

Yes you will need a network starter kit. It comes with the cable, power node, and resisting terminators you will need to set up a NEMA 2000 network. Once set up in your boat, new additions are as simple as adding a T and a cable. Your network will end up having 3 Ts. One has the power wires, one has...

I've got a new 50E that was giving me problems at Shasta in April. It sounded like the spool was grinding upon casting and the distance was greatly reduced. You would have to unhook your transom transducer everytime you wanted to use the front one. The LSS box (either 1 or 2) only supports one transducer at a time. I'm not sure there is a trolling motor that is large enough to hold the LSS2 and a regular 2D transducer at the same time. You might check T...

If you are keeping the LGC-3000 you have to keep the NMEA network. I ended up getting rid of mine and filling the holes with Marine Tex. You can't hardly even tell it was there. That is exactly what you can do! The simplest system is one LSS box with 2 ethernet cables going out to each head unit. You can get rid of the NMEA network if you don't think you'll ever add any of the NMEA sensors or an external antenna. I would change out the power cord or at a minimum disconnect ...

It's not just another T. It's a power node. So it is a T with a hot and ground wire coming out the top. You have to use it to hook the network up to power with HDS units. In the past the LCX or LMS units could power the network. Really though if you are going with all HDS units and have no other NME...

At least as far as your 2D sonar, I'd leave them in AutoSensitivity mode and turn off the back one when you move up front. Just hit Stop Sonar. That can keep them from cross interfering. If there is no lever, then you do need a drain plug. I have a Tr-21X, and it requires drain plugs to keep water in the livewell. It has pump in, recirculate, and pump out but if you don't put that plug down in the bottom, the water will just run out when you get on plane.
