You have to throw em and let the fish tell you what they want that day, maybe both baits even. This time of the year I think the biggest fault folks have is fishing em way to fast. A tube is always tied on and ready to go in my boat, a dart head as well this time of the year on our Motherload, Gold ...

ok, damn thing worked fine when I plugged her in to see if she was getting power to the unit. So I'm thinking she is working fine. I also should add that when using the lighter lb test on a spinning rig I almost always use a reel hookset (dart head, DS) instead of crossing their eyes like with a t-rig...

I use the improved clinch knot myself for flouro.... and I check my line frequently and re-tie a lot... keep it moist and try to avoid any friction..

IMHO, Its gonna be tough to catch Jeff Michels and Richard Dobyns w/a 2 lb lead unless they fall hard which I dont think will happen. With the tough bite my money is on Richard....

no power to the unit, just shut off. It happened Sunday while I was fishing the WRL on McClure. I had just reset the default settings on my HDS-7 but did not power down the 102 unit.. Any suggestions is appreciated and thank you in advance. Have yet to try it again to see if it was just a intermitte...

I like the old (when on beds) trick of putting a piece of alka seltzer in the tube as well to make it fizz and bubble. Or some foam that you can load w/scent like Ash said and it will also help slow the decent some when you pop it off the bottom.

Great advice above...I like the smaller thinner profile for the lakes myself, 3- 3.5 inch. I love tubes in the winter and being patient is the key for my confidence and getting bit. Where can I get bulk purchases of Dartheads at? I have had good success and actually like the Big Daddy Select 1/8oz w/a 2/0 Mustad hook, or comparable.
