Fishing around Monterey/Salinas?
My son just move to the Marina/Salinas area to go to school at CSU Montery Bay. He misses NoCal and is looking for someplace to fish from shore for bass in that area.
Any suggestions for bodies of water and/or tips.
Thanks.

Mac, I have a G Loomis CBR 845 Med Hvy Mod Fast Action 10-20 lb. Line and 3/8-1 oz lure rating. I don't throw really big cranks but I love the rod. I don't throw swimbaits on it they are just to bulky. I use a 7 1/2 foot specialty swimbait rod I built with a heavier rating. It would wear you out on ...

Mac, To make matters worse the numbers become somewhat arbitrary. Rod and Rod blank manufacturers do not have an industry standard for all of the power ratings. Although some are trying to set up a system. It is a good guide but you also need to look at Action, Line and Lure ratings. Each of the dif...

I had a jar fall and land on my dog. The dog then licked it to get off. The dog went nuts, my wife went nuts and if he hadn't smelled so bad I would have laughed myself sick.
It took two baths and one was with Dawn detergent before we could stand to be around him.
Good luck.

The fully enclosed that looks like a cargo trailer is the style I was looking for.
So far I have found leads on a Sooner out of Oklahoma and Pace out of Arizona. I need to check and see if they are still being built. Would love some more sources and/or peoples experiences.

By taking your Ranger you will use less fuel than you would driving around the houseboat. They burn alot of fuel compared to your Ranger.
