Pretty cool article and technique for sure. However, it’s just my personal opinion that this way of doing the float n fly shouldn’t be allowed in tournaments. Using a 10’ fly rod to catch fish fly fishing just seems like a slippery slope to me and kind of a different sport. Can we now use 10’ to 12...

I use the remote all the time with my Ultex while launching. It came with the motor. Also it works well if you have little kids. You can kick back and run the motor while they fish in the front.

I spoke with Don Pedro Rec today. I asked them about refunds. They said that they were in the process of discussing options. Agree. I hate the fishing pressure. 20 years ago you could go to Pedro, Melones or Mclure on a Friday and would only be a couple of boats on the lake Now if you want some privacy you have to take Tuesday or Wednesday off work. I do not believe that 2 - 3 tournaments every weekend is good for the lak...

I have been on Melones every weekend since the Wild West. Last Sunday it was a ghost town. Yesterday it was pretty packed and it fished better yesterday than it has been. What I see...is the ones who do/can afford continue to be able to afford. Those who cannot...are being priced out of the market. I just have to agree about the Ford 150. Never thot a "6" could tow like that and be so quiet (for a truck). When one has neighbors a few feet away - sleeping - and my truck starts or backs in the boat - you want to put a blanket over the hood - or something. We usually don't leave our ho...

Thank you Rod. I am really trying to see your point of view on this. My question was this. What makes it different comparing fun fishing or competition? Is it illiagal? If it is then that's the answer. If it is legal then let me ask the question a different way. To me the big argument is fish safety...
