Re: Alright, Spotted Bass FOR Food - Seriously!
FISH TACOS!
I marinade filets in Taquilla, lime juice, fresh garlic, and chili powder for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Throw them on the BBQ till flakey, serve with a white sauce made of equal parts yogurt and mayo on tortillas with shredded cabage and fresh salsa. Yummy. Don't forget the Pacifico!

I use 15# P-Line 100% Floro for my senko fishing 80% of the time. In the summer when my senko rod doubles as a soft topwater rod I use 15# Big Game. I never use braid any more, too many problums for me.

Depending on what pound test is on the curado, I would say that is a pretty good muti purpose set up. I would throw jigs, darterheads, c-rig, t-rig, cranks, blades, almost anything in my box besdies swimbaits on the rod and reel combo, again all depending on what line is on it. CA Delta! Big largies, lots of Smallies up north, salmon in the fall, stripers fall, winter and spring, sturgon, steelhead. Why travel out of state when we have one of the best fisheries in the country in our back yard.

Re: drop shot rod and line on the delta
For drop shoting on the delta I use my pitching rod. 6'6" medium heavy with 17-20 pound Floro. I pitch/flip the rig just like I would a jig or texas rigged worm. I use a 6-12 inch drop and a 1/4oz-1/2oz mojo weight depending on the depth I am fishing and the fishes' activity level.

They are a small boaters club (16 foot boat limit, 60 HP motor limit hence the ame) located in the Modesto area. They used to be the 14/25 Bass club and I fished with them for a few years when I lived down there. Here is link to there website.

Re: Entry Level Bass Boat Advice Anyone?.......
I would say with your price range and the fact that you are going to be fishing a big water lake most of the time, you should focus on a used 19-21 foot fiberglass boat. Check out the classified section on this site as well as on fishsniffer.com and boattraderonline.com.
