Strike King - Teckel Frogs in virtual dead lock for UFC5’s Manufacturers Cup

Only one word can describe today’s opening round of the 2019 Ultimate Frog Challenge, and that word is HOT. Not a “little warm” or a bit “toasty”…just HOT.

But despite the forecast for oppressive weather conditions, a large field of teams still descended on Russo’s Marina for the fifth installment of the frog spectacular known as the “Ultimate Frog Challenge” and using any brand of top water everyone’s focus was on catching summertime bass and winning big money.

“It was brutally hot”, noted defending UFC4 champions Ron Howe, and Kevin Cornwell, who on the strength of a solid 11 pound 3-fish limit, have a good chance at scoring a repeat victory in this UFC5 event. “We are on some good fish, have a solid pattern and just hope our fish will hold up tomorrow”, they added.

A showdown for UFC5’s Manufacturers Cup

The race for UFC5’s Manufacturers Cup is intense as team Strike King represented by Cody Meyer and Billy Hines – using the KVD “Sexy Frog”, is in a virtual “dead-heat” with team Teckel Frogs, - represented by young guns Ed Everhart and Mike Coleman – using the brands “Sprinkler Frog” top water baits.

Both teams are understandably “mute “in regards to areas they are fishing, colors and techniques, but you can be sure that on tomorrow’s final day, they will pull out all the stops in their efforts to bring back to their respective corporate offices, the coveted Manufacturer’s Cup, noted them as the top frog brand in the west.
