Anyone own a Ranger Z175?
Anyone own a Ranger Z175?
As the title says, anyone own a Ranger Z175? What would you say are pros and cons? I noticed there is no middle seat. I am trying to decide between a Nitro Z7 (Z18) or the Z175...
I do not fish tournaments, but wouldn't mind a few club type tournaments maybe once in a while.

I don't have any experiences with either of them, but I would go with Ranger over Nitro. The biggest reason is some day you will sell it. You will get more out of the Ranger than the Nitro.
Re: Anyone own a Ranger Z175?
Of course the Ranger would get more. It costs more..

I have a Z117 Ranger 2013 w/a Mercury 115. I could have got a 18 ft nitro with a 150hp for the same price.

Do you regret buying the Ranger 9ver the Nitro?

You owe it to yourself to check out Rangers new Z175 model. They have made the gunnels much smaller to add a ton more room. This boat feels and fishes like a MUCH larger boat. It's a really great boat. I'm not sure where you live but I know some dealers are stocking it. Yell if I can help. I'm at Dobyns Rod shop today 530-671-1989
Re: Anyone own a Ranger Z175?
Rangers are very nice boats. My only complaint is the top speed with the 115 is 47mph. To buy up would have been 6k more. Thought it was hard to justify on a working mans budget at the time. Probably should of bought used instead.
Re: Anyone own a Ranger Z175?
Just for anyone researching I ended up buying the Ranger Z175 withe the Z package. The quality of the Rangers finishes, seats, carpet, backing on the hinge bolts etc is second to none. Love my Ranger! I am also getting 52mph on the 4 stroke command thrust 115 with no modifications to the boat.

Tube frame trailers are cheap and rust in half in 2 years. Happened to Me. I will stick with a Ranger.

PM sent. There is a cert for sale in the classifieds for this model that can save someone $5k+ on a new one.

Re: Anyone own a Ranger Z175?
Back in the year 2000 I bought a new Triton TR19. At the time a comparable Nitro was about the same price. Since then Triton's have gone up in price quite a bit. At the time the lesson learned was Nitro's were very reasonably priced up through the 18' class. Any Nitro at that time 19' or longer didn't provide much $$$ relief.

I have a 2014 z117 and I Iove it. It's built like a tank. Quality build throughout. I fish with 2 or 3 others routinely and we are all comfortable.

I bought one in July 2017, merc 4 stk 115, Have owned two Bass Trackers, also share a 2015 Z518 with my son, Opti 225.
I love it, my son loves it... unless he takes the Z518 out on Lake Erie.
I wouldn't trade it...it is awesome!

I’ve been running a 04 Ranger 117 with a 115 optimax for ten years. Completely satisfied. I usually fish the delta. Serious savings on fuel and oil. She’ll go 53 with a solo rider. Extreme rough conditions, speed and size of rod lockers are the only drawbacks. The new models now fit 8’ sticks. I sometimes want to upgrade but it’s paid for!! Perfect for weekend angling.
