Elite 5 bow mount flush kit? Running transducer cord?

I am going to install a Elite 5 unit on the bow of my Ranger Z175. I am wondering if I need the flush mount kit to mount the unit in the bezel Ranger provided (see attached photo) or if it will be fine with the hole cut from the stencil provided.

Also, I'm not sure where to run my transducer wire. I have a Maxum 70lb and do not know where to route the wire through the boat into the hull area to be clean and functional. Any help?
