Tough Fishing and 23+ tops WON BASS Casitas 5/7

Post by Rich Tauber »

Misty morning rain and heavy overcast met 23 teams as the toughest group in Southern California got ready to do battle at famous Lake Casitas in Southern California. The anglers know the facts here. You need 20 pounds of bass to be competitive at this reservoir. At 10-12 pound bag that is common place in most Southern California reservoirs just don't get it done and once again Kurt Ebken and his son KC stepped to the plate and dropped a bag weighing 23.81 on the scales and collected a cool $2,380.00 in cash. Let's make it more fun..they caught em all on topwater. In what we call tough fishing at Lake Casitas in Ventura California the second-place team of Russel Trozera and Bill Hamilton had to "struggle" to their 19.40 pound bag. They collected $1,010.00 in cash for their days work. Southern California veterans Bobby and Billy Nelson were smooth with a 18.65 pound bag and slid into third place and collected $680.00 in cash. In fourth place where Chris Hagan and Ryan Hagan with a five bass sack at 18.11 pounds and they collected $210.00 in cash for their days work. Rounding out the money list were Chris Chandler and Dave Delucca with a five bass limit weighing 17.41 pounds and they collected $200.00 in cash for their work. The insane fishing continues at Lake Casitas as the night tournaments are right around the corner. The first night time tournament of the season is set for June 18, 2016. This year all of us expect 25-30 pound bags to be the standard to win any of our night time series events. Anyone interested in competing in our night series can contact tournament director Rich Tauber at 818-439-1154.
