Guys.... I have posted this in 2 different groups trying to get some input. Please read and share with all tournament anglers!
I am in need of your help and constructive input on finalizing the WON California Open dates at Clear Lake for 2017! March is very impacted with tournament dates and publishing responsibilities for our Fred Hall Long Beach and San Diego show coverage. I want to make sure I'm not missing anything when considering the dates for the 2017 Cal Open. My proposed dates once confirmed with DFG is to run the event on Thursday April 6th - Saturday April 8th at Konocti Vista Casino. I know I have mentioned March to some, but it's just not laying out well. This is your opportunity to voice your opinion and be heard, after all this is your event! I want to finalize my decision by October 19th. The Cal Open would be 2 weeks prior to the WWBT event on April 21-23, and is NOT during their off limits period! If your planning on fishing WWBT Havasu event you would have time to make it to Clear Lake and get 2 days of pre-fishing in! Another option would be May 31st - June 2nd.

Great opportunity Billy. I cant speak on it personally right now but everybody should get on and think about this at the least to make this work for as many as possible.

May 31 - June 2nd is the way to go. I always though this event during the spawn/ post spawn was great. Clearlake fishes much bigger during that time than in March when it can be sword fighting. Any ones that's fished the holder ford can tell you that. Warm weather and 3 days of fishing for everyone I think will boost your turnout.

May 31st - June 2nd' I agree ! with Bsapp' the lake just seems to turn into a "zoo" with all the March/April tourneys ! and the post spawn bite has been great the last several years !....
