Clear Lake this week CONDITIONS UPDATE

Post by DanIsaac »

As some have heard the County of Lake has CLOSED all of the county launch facilities due to high water conditions.
The lake is currently at 8.5 Rumsey and the closures will remain in effect until the lake drops back down to under
7.9 Rumsey.

Likewise, a 5 MPH lake wide speed restriction was also put into effect as well. Again, until such a time that the lake is back down below 7.9 Rumsey. My guess, 1-2 weeks weather depending.

Launch options are now limited to private and city ramps in both Clearlake and Lakeport. Red Bud and 5th Street both have lanes available as does Braidos and the Casino.

Updates will be posted as they become available.

Hopefully the lake is fishable by this weekend. As far as I know the restrictions are still in place.

Lake never did get unfishable. Midlake remains the best bet since it never did get any muddy water. Water is around 48 degrees and several guys have been on a great Arig bite. The crappie bite is on fire already but they have not moved shallow yet. The creeks are starting to run clear which generally cleans up the water around the mouths but will be a little colder water.
The lake will not get down to 7.9 by the weekend so be careful out there and repect other peoples property

Be advised if going out on Clearlake, we pulled several boats and large trees from the lake today!

Haven't heard anything new on speed limits being removed.
Current level is 8.15 and the restrictions stated until it drops to 7.9.
More rain expected wed night, thursday am which will raise it a bit, so don't expect it to be off this weekend. It was only been dropping about 1/2 in per day.

Starting to clear up some especially in wind protected shallows, still some debris.

Thank you asking.
I was very lucky (I guess) I was knocked out unconscious. I was helped by several people, I don't know. I thank them.
Damaged my knee, head, hip and chest. All of those are healing. The knee could take a while.
Again I was lucky. Thank you for asking.
