2016 Evinrude e-tech 175

Just checking to see if anyone has any knowledge of a problem I am having with my engine before taking it in to be repaired. I have a problem with the linkage/cable from the hot foot to the engine. The boat goes into gear but when I press on the hot foot, the engine doesn't rev up. The linkage/cable is moving in the engine when the hot foot is pressed but not getting no power. By the way, I have a 2016 Evinrude E-Tech 175. Thanks.
