So here is the official announcement:
Club Members of Southern California,
It's time to start planning to compete in this year's annual Castaic Bass Club Memorial Challenge, hosted by the Castaic Bass Club.
Once again, the tournament will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Castaic Lake. The event is open to all members of chartered, insured bass clubs from Southern California area, from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, and from the Pacific to the Nevada border.
The event will have a $15 entry fee (per boat), along with vehicle and boat launching fees ($24) the lake charges, unless you have an annual pass.
100% Payback Options include the following:
Top 3 Option: $25
Biggest Bass - Winner Takes All: $10
All In: $50 per boat/team
- Sign Ups - Submit your Team Names (include Club Name) to orinjay2057@gmail.com or Text Orin T at 818.621.3516. Insurance waiver forms and Entry Fees will be collected at the Lake day of event
- BLAST OFF ORDER – get your Team Names in by Friday August 31st to be entered in drawing – blast off order will be published by Sunday September 2nd
- Late Entries will be added to blast off order as received
- Sign-ups at the Lake are allowed
- BBQ lunch will be provided
- RAFFLE: TBD. This year we are requesting that each participating club sponsor a raffle item or two. CBC will do its best to gather sponsor products. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Just a reminder that Castaic Lake is a quagga free, clean and dry lake, and a has a strict inspection regime in place, so having your boat both clean and dry is mandatory for admittance.
There is no minimum number of boats per club for participation, so if only one boat shows up from your club, they can still compete. There is a 2 club member per boat limit.
The weights from the 3 biggest bags from each club will be combined and will be the official weight of that club. The club with the heaviest combined weight will be this year's winner, and will have their club's name engraved on the perpetual trophy, and have bragging rights until next year.

- 0500 – 0600 - Check-In at “top of hill” prior to entering West Ramp Parking Lot – payment, signatures, Livewell check and marker tape
- Life Guard Call – Boats in the Water
- 0615 / Life Guard Call – Blastoff
- 1300 / 1 p.m. – First Flight Check-in at Finger Dock (Boats 1-20)
- 1315 / 1:15 p.m. – Second Flight Check-in at Finger Dock (Boats 21 – remainder of field)
OFF LIMITS & Lake Rules: Main Lake Marina, and Ski Arm Buoy Line (no casting over Buoy); Obey all rules on Lake Map given at lake entry by staff; if you are ticketed you are disqualified from tourney
