Late Season Jerkbaits

Post by ttb31183 »

This fall was great for smallmouth and my last trip out I decided to change it up completely. Instead of targeting smallmouth, I went to a lake that is full of largemouth. They were biting a jerkbait in seven to nine feet of water with water temps in the low 40's. It was a nice change of pace.

We had success with all kinds of jerkbaits from Ima Flit 120s to the deeper diving Strike King KVD Deep Jerkbait. We targeted the last remaining grass in the lake and the fish were stacked up in these areas that were adjacent to flats.

We didn't catch any really big ones, but about 15 fish up to 3lbs. Not bad for this late in the year.
