Advise for Folsom Lake needed

Post by bassinwannabe »

Me and my son will be headed out to Folsom tomorrow. Any advise on where/what to Fish would be appreciated. Do you think the fish have moved up this week due to the warming weather??

I am heading out to folsom as well tomorrow and I will be throwing crankbaits, jigs, darterheads and swimbaits. I am going to focus in the 0-25 foot zone, moving deeper if needed. I will try and find the warmest water possible which meens I will focus on north-east facing banks and not going to far up the forks. Hopefully I will pick up some fish, I am still learning this lake, but at least I have a game plan :)

I have fished Folsom for years but sometimes it just stumps me. I was thinking of throwing some swim baits and maybe carolina riged lizards in the sunken trees. Maybe a jerk bait to try and locate the fish. My best luck has always been on the main lake by Browns Ravine as well as the rock piles at Browns Ravine.

BTW, what is the best Lures to use on a 7' med action Bait casting rod with a Curado reel?

Depending on what pound test is on the curado, I would say that is a pretty good muti purpose set up. I would throw jigs, darterheads, c-rig, t-rig, cranks, blades, almost anything in my box besdies swimbaits on the rod and reel combo, again all depending on what line is on it. If you see an OLD white and blue bass boat outthere tomorrow dont be afraid to say hi.

Thanks, It has 10lb test on it right now. Are spinning rods better for swimbaits? I have a 19' bayliner fish/ski that is fully rigged for fishing ( I don't ski but needed a family type boat) Good luck out there if I see ya we will say hi!

Peace
Rob
