Boats hit a stump while traveling on the water, angler thrown
Very proud of our team that competed at Lay Lake yesterday. Unfortunately, we had one of our boats hit a stump while traveling on the water. One of our anglers was thrown from the boat. Thank the Lord that team member was wearing his PFD as well as the other angler. The captain had his life vest and kill switch on as well. This is why we talk about safety at every event we go to. The boat captain and both anglers are little sore and one has a minor concussion. Our team would like to thank the team from Central Clay High School for taking quick action while witnessing the accident. They were able to pull our angler from the water and get him to safety. They put their tournament on hold to help our angler. Their actions probably cost them about two to three hours fishing. I would also like to thank four of our own anglers. They stopped fishing to lend a hand as well. I’m beyond proud of how they handled the situation. They were never concerned about the time they lost fishing to help a teammate in need. The Lord puts people in the right place and time for a reason. He definitely did that yesterday. The two out of the four anglers that helped out managed to finish 21st. out of 140 boats. Below are pictures of the boat and the team from Central Clay that helped out. The boat can be replaced but a life cannot.
