If you listen carefully, you just may hear the quiet rumble of anticipation building as each day draws us closer to the most important event in amateur-level bass fishing.

For in less than 2 weeks, only 100 qualifying teams will have their skills tested like never before in the Future Pro Tour Tournament Trail's 17th annual Classic Championship - presented by Gone Fishin' Marine in Dixon.

"Ground zero" for this marquee event dubbed "The Battle by the Bay", will be the world-famous California Delta - at Tower Park Marina, where on March 6th and 7th, a field of 100 teams will fight for one of only 15 slots available on the third and final day of competition.

That final day of competition will be held March 8th at San Pablo Dam reservoir, a small but incredibly fertile Bay Area lake - in eye-sight of the Bay Bridge, and well off the beaten path of all tournament circuits, creating the levelest playing field possible for the event's finalists.

Those 15 remaining finalists will compete for the keys to a brand-new Nitro Z18 boat package, powered by a Mercury 150hp engine, and expertly rigged by Gone Fishin' Marine of Dixon, over $10,000 in cash, plus the honor that comes with being noted as the best amateur bass angling team in the west.

Get ready...the COUNTDOWN for the "Battle of the Bay" begins now!
