Swisher Sweeps the CVKF Season Opener on Lake Kaweah
The weather report called for rain but it held off to make for a nice day on the water with highs in the 60s with light winds. Water temperature was in the high 50s with clarity 5 to 10 feet depending on location. Fish were primarily found in 20 to 30 feet of water on rocky points suspended. Primary patterns were Ned rigs and drop shot. The fishing proved to be a challenge with only 17 anglers checking in a 4 fish limit and only 26 anglers registering 1 or more fish.
Morgan Swisher of Madera, CA came out on top and captured his first kayak tournament win with a 4 fish limit of 60.25 inches. Big fish of the tournament was 17.5 inches landed by Mike Scott.
