I've had some amazing trips with Ross England. I also want to book with Paul Bailey in the future

Geez I haven't looked at guide prices in a few years. They certainly have gone into the realm that I can no longer afford.

Boats, insurance, labor, and fuel costs have all gone up. Gone are the days of $250.00 all day guide trip. I imagine that is probably just their fuel, boat and insurance cost alone. Then consider tackle, time and knowledge to put their client on fish it gets expensive quick. You can always try to find a backseat available or fish as an AM in one of the pro-ams you may end up drawing one of the local guides.

Totally understand the price going up. Are there many guides willing to use a clients boat and gas? Last year I saw Christian Ostrander guiding on the delta in his clients bad a$$ Vexus.

Yeah, definitely understand why they have to price the way they do. Just a little bummed that I can't personally justify guided trips the way I used to be able to. Thank you for the other ideas for getting out on the water. I fished the WON bass at Clear Lake as an AM a couple years ago and that was a blast.

Paul Bailey is an awesome experience. He really enjoys teaching and it shows in the experience. The other obvious one would be John Pearl.
Fishing should be fun.

My brother and I spent last Monday on the water with John Pearl. We caught quite a few good ones and learned a lot about baits and techniques but more importantly he was one of the nicest guys you’d ever meet. Thoroughly enjoyed our day with him and walked away with quite a bit of knowledge. Couldn’t recommend him more.
