Currently there is some sort of major bomb issue out here on Bethel Island. All access to and from the area down here in Knightsen, Oakley and Bethel Island is being denied.
If you are planning to come this way, you may not be able to gain access until around 5:00pm. If you know of someone who launched down here this morning, don't expect em home on time! Officials aren't sayin much, other than STAY PUT!

That's one way of keeping the place all to yourself.
On a serious note, you all be careful out there. I'd hate to see anyone get hurt by some nut job.

County News.....
KNIGHTSEN, Calif. -- Residents in the unincorporated town of Knightsen in eastern Contra Costa County were evacuated Wednesday because of a possible explosive device found inside of a residential motor home, authorities said.
Contra Costa County Sheriff spokesman Jimmy Lee said the device was found at about 1:30 p.m. on Broadway by a man who said the device looks like dynamite. The bomb squad from the Walnut Creek Police Department was responding and residents within a 1-mile radius of Broadway were ordered to evacuate.
An emergency telephone alert to residents within the area was made and evacuees were being sent to the Delta Vista Middle School on Frank Hengle Way near East Cyprus Road.
The phone warning told residents to "leave now by automobile or foot. Go by way of East Cypress to Delta Vista Middle School...Take only those essential items you have ready and can carry with you."

Contra Costa sheriff's deputies are evacuating people who live within a one-mile radius of a suspicious device found in Knightsen.
A man arrived at his home on Broadway in Knightsen, checked on his mobile home parked outside and found a device with three to four sticks that appeared to be road flares or dynamite, said sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.
The device also has wires and a clock and is near a gas can.
Deputies arrived, examined it briefly and then called for an evacuation. Authorities sent an emergency e-mail asking residents to leave on East Cypress Road and go to Delta Vista Middle School off Frank Hengel Way.
County authorities sent out an e-mail, telling residents to stay off their phones and carry only essential items. The advisory also was issued on radio and television.
The Walnut Creek police bomb squad was notified, and deputies were telling motorists to expect the area to remain closed for at least two hours.
Several local streets have been evacuated.
Dozens of vehicles lined up at intersection of East Cypress Road and Sellers Avenue, where deputies stopped them to keep them out of the evacuated area. Many parked beside the road to wait out the incident.
Not only Knightsen residents, but also people who live beyond there in the Delta suddenly found themselves stuck.
One concerned resident told a deputy her children were home alone. Deputies went house to house to ensure residents were out.

Thanksgiving preparations suspended at least temporarily.
"I got off work early to get on the road and beat traffic," said Dave Jones, 56, of Bethel Island, who had planned to pick up his son to go to Oregon for Thanksgiving. "This is what's so bad about living on the island, there's only one way in and one way out."
Connie Hanson of Knightsen was returning home with her 88-year-old mother from a doctor's appointment for a broken arm at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center on Deer Valley Road.
They were told to evacuate while they were at a convenience store near a gas station where authorities set up a command post.
"One of the cops said we can't get through because there's a bomb scare," she said. "Then we got here, and they told us the island would be closed for two more hours."
