Don and Darlene Iovino

Post by tmiller »

To all who are thinking of Don and Darlene Iovino:

Don asked me to respond to all of you who are so kindly thinking of him and Darlene. As you are probably aware, Darlene is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for cancer discovered in both her brain and lung. The therapy is extremely difficult and has reduced her immune system drastically. Then Darlene got pneumonia and has had to be hospitalized for the last few weeks. She is recovering from pneumonia and still has about a week and a half of radiation therapy left. When she gets stronger the physicians will start the chemotherapy again. This has been very difficult for the whole Iovino family and they are working together to take care of Darlene, the home and business. Don and Darlene have 50 years together and so this is a subject that he is so broken up about that he finds it almost impossible to discuss with anyone. Due to this he stays off the phone as much as he can.

So please know that even if you do not speak directly to Don, he and Darlene deeply appreciate all your kind thoughts and ask for more prayers that Darlene can begin to recover.

Thank you for your thoughts,
