Don't you think you're being just a wee bit premature? It's dropped about 0.2 feet in the last 10 hours, or about 2.4 inches.

Re: looks like folsom
It's been at 430 for the last 14 days, and now it's starting to recede.
I think it's on it's summer decline as well. I've been monitoring the water level the last couple of years. If memory serves me right, in June the water reaches it's highest level.
5mph speed restriction by the end of July maybe?

Check out this site for historical data:

If you scroll down to the bottom you can plot lake elevation over any length of time you choose.
I did a plot of Folsom's elevation over the last 10 years and the peak elevation this year was lower than any other year over that period. It also was apparent that the major factor in determining how low it got before starting to rise again was how high the peak was. Oh well, 5 mph means less yahoos on the lake I suppose.

bahlzar,
Yes, I thought the same thing since last Friday I saw the gates open at Natoma, and then again on Monday. It is normal to start dropping in July but as we all know this year was not normal

Actually June 1st is the typical draw down date, if you look at the historical data.Hipster wrote:bIt is normal to start dropping in July but as we all know this year was not normal

looks like folsom is going down
The lake is dropping and will drop faster as the need for water down south go up. The flow out is up by about 30%. The pools and lakes in southern California will be full at all cost to the north. The governor is working hard to increase the amount of water he can send south. You may have to ration water and let your yards die but it will be green down were he lives.
