Lake Sonoma can be great this time of year if you are willing to run and gun in the morning. I would start off with a vixen in a shad color and a Spro frog in nat green. Work the wood main lake first then move to the weed lines in the creek arms as the morning progreses Yorty Creek is the better one. There is a small amount of fish that will stay shallow so covering as much water as you can is the key. One other area to look at is the face of the dam I know that you cant get as close to the face as years past, they have it marked off but with a long cast you might make it. Use a drop shot to find the brush piles that were sank there this area holds both large and small mouth.
Good Luck

First thing I would say is do not go near the place on a weekend unless you're gonna fish nighttime. Too many dopes and the launch is not enforced. Too many people get away with a lot of crap up there. That being said, Sonoma is a great lake to fish, but can be tough at times especially if they are pulling(releasing) water. I would check the buzzbait bite around standing timber(with branches) in deep water. These fish(big) like to suspend in the wood over deep water. AC Plug would be another topwater that works great up there. Check the weed edges early and late with the buzzbait. Go frogging or flipping during the day in the creeks. Lots of grass. Or fish deep creek channels with dropshot and jigs. Crank the mainlake points and mudlines. Good Luck. D.B.COOPER 8)

Terry,
My old club fished it a few years ago at about this same time. All i remember is there are lots of standing trees, thats where the fish are, and that they loved the 5in salt & pepper senkos whacky style.

Give those a try for sure!
