Mike and Rooks take first in our Havasu Classic

Post by Lynne »

Congratulations to Mike Rooke and Shaun Bailey for winning our 2008 Havasu Classic.

Results are now posted on our website http://www.nationalbasswest.com/listing ... formation/. There were 116 teams that participated, with a new SKEETER ZX190 powered by a YAMAHA motor and then some option money. ($30,010 paid back in cash)

I shall post more tomorrow.

Thanks

First, congratulations to Mike and Shaun. Great job!

I've been visiting this site for a long time and it just drives me nuts to see so many people with such a defeatist attitude.

People that think they don't have a chance to win or can't have a good time unless they win a tournament should probably just stay home and/or just fish for fun.

There will always be guys/teams that do well on certain lakes, but nobody wins them all.

Shaun and Mike are machines... we had a fun trip and dumped some costly fish.. the lake was awesome.

Well bOber, you make it to the fish off next year and see how you do against those two. You can belive all the Bill Dance shows you want about fishing against the fish, when it comes to reality Shaun and Mike will humble the best on havasu. My comment was said in respect for those guys, as they did the same thing last year.

Well Delta they are tough, but they are beatable. As is everyone. I only pre fished the lake for 5 days and we figured them out pretty well. We lost 3 costly fish. Heck we boated a 6lb largemouth in practice and a few other 4lb largies.. they fish are there to figure out.

Locals always have the advantage but it doesnt set anything in stone.

Congrats to Mike and Shaun, you guys had another GREAT event
on are fantastic Lake Havasu. You guys are damn tough.

We all love when guys through in the towel because of bad
weather, tough fishing conditions, or local studs. Heck, sometimes
with say 100 boat fields you really only are fishing against 25
or so teams that think they have a chance.

Clint and I know most of the time in order to win a team event
on Havasu (9 this year) we'll have to beat Mike and Shaun. With
that being said, we will always welcome that challenge. These
guys have worked their butts off to learn this lake in a short
time.

My suggestion to the doubters, maybe put in a little more time
and bend your hooks over anytime you prefish this lake.

Again congrats Mike & Shaun....MG

Nice job Shaun and Mike. One of these tournaments Marc and I will put 2 days together and give you a run.

I love the tough competition.....It makes me fish harder and I learn more and more every hour on the water.

Time on the water !

See you all in a few weeks ! WON TOC.

Gonna get a couple more days of practice before this one.

Great job Shuan and Mike on your win.

DeltaBound,

If I'm not mistaken Boober did qualify to fish Havasu this week, and did very well.

Great Job B on the finish

Well, congrats to all, and especially the top 10. All I'm saying is Shaun and Mike are studs. Maybe I should have said "hard to beat" instead of "Can't be beat" or put a smiley at the end of my sentence. Sheesh......

Holy sacks Bassman,

Another awesome job by Havasu's Dynamic Duo.

I didn't get to play this year :x ...hopefully next year

Obi aka Gary C.

ps. If it was more financially feasible, I would come out and fish a couple of regular season events as Havasu is a blast to fish!
