I agree, what a joke!!! That was a friendly thread. Use better judgement than that Mr. Moderator. Thanks.

I was about to say what a awsome product. I work in the Automotive collision industry and have worked with all sorts of resins, polymers, expoxys with mixed results. A 5 lber almost ripped my Baitsmith in half at Clear Lake. It was brand new out of the box, It still runs true and like new. Thanks for a great product MEND IT!

Well, as stated in the thread, I got a couple of requests to lock it, and it looked like it was starting to degrade in content. The useful information is still in the thread, which is why it was locked instead of just removed.

Thanks for your support.

okay - well I've been a moderator for 20+ years, all I can say is it's a tough call and it's not as easy as it looks. Personally I didn't see anything wrong with the thread, but bordem sometimes sets in with some forums. hair trigger not a good thing unless a personal attack - kinda reminds me of a ms. russo that was left to take a beating......anyway, it's politics season for sure.

I use locktite quite often to lock threads. It keeps them from vibrating loose

Enough Roger did what he's thought was best. My wish is to see many of you get back to fishing, techniques and not try to throw others under the bus every time you get a chance. Then like a nagging ole woman bring up comparisons of past history. Move forward!

We strive forward to make this a better place, instead key board warriors use this as a attack place....Try contacting the manufacture, maybe use this forum as a place to look for that contact, like maybe the rep? No, it’s more rewarding to hear ourselves talk sometimes. Then when we take action “Boomâ€

I really have to ask are there a bunch of people that sit around here waiting for a thread to go a little sideway and then they send a pm to a moderator? I use to love to post in here and pick on a few of my buddies. I rarely even read anymore as in my opinion this place has turned into moderator heaven...... I have been here for many many years..... and it used to be come in talk fishing get ribbed rib back and it was all good. I really dont understand what changed but I for one think it isnt a public place anymore as there is no freedom of speech......

I mean if something offends someone why do they hide behind a PM and just state what offended them...... I thenk evolution is thinning peoples skin it is a sad sad sad thing.....

of course if this post offends you please feel free to pm me before you pm the moderator.....\

Just for everyone's edification, and this will be the only time I'll explain myself or my actions, but I feel it is warranted as I'm new to moderating this forum, and new to many of you:

I strive to remain transparent and unobtrusive. I get nothing for being a moderator - we're volunteers who were enlisted to do this 'job'. I try to watch everything, including external links, to be sure they are appropriate for the audience that makes up Western Bass. That includes older men, younger men, women, and some children. I try to bear that in mind when reviewing the posts and especially external links.

I consider myself to be your servant - that of the members of Western Bass. I try to remain unbiased in my 'official capacity'. When someone asks, privately or publicly, for an action then I am required to consider it. Often I'll send an email to my fellow moderators to request their guidance, or in extreme cases I'll pick up the phone and make a call.

In this particular case, I had received a PM request. I was in the process of sending an email asking for guidance when I saw Don's public request. Don and I know each other, and I value and respect his opinion and input, so I made the judgement to go ahead and lock it. It seemed like the thread had run its course anyway.

I guess it was too much to ask for understanding and support. Based on subsequent feedback I unlocked the thread. Enjoy!

Roger

EDIT: Seems like a few posts added since I started this one, so the smiley was out of context - added Troy's quote for clarity.

Keep throwing the Instructions away....... There is Family and Fish to enjoy in the Outdoors daily with ~~ till the natural expiration date is called beyond our own personal control !! ....... Thats life.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
