Wow, I'd hate to be bargaining with you!biteme wrote:60.00 Its a good rod.
I think anything less than $100 is fine. Now one caveat, make sure it's a 'lifetime warranty' rod. These are the ones with "Lamiglas" label on the rod. The other Gen1 rods warranty expires this month!

The rod new was MUCH less this the gen 2 rods. I think I paid 129.99 for mine new. Expires? I thought these carried the warranty for life?
Re: Opinion about Gen. 1 702?
Yeah, there are TWO different Gen1 rods. The original Gen1 rods have the "Lamiglas" label just above the reel seat. After Gary started having breakage problems and switched manufacturers, there was a second release of the 'Gen1' rods that had a limited warranty (ends in Dec'09). This second release of the Gen1 rods did not have the Lamiglas label on the rod. Instead, I think it had "F3" or something like that in it's place.biteme wrote:The rod new was MUCH less this the gen 2 rods. I think I paid 129.99 for mine new. Expires? Basically, if it doesn't say Lamiglas on the rod, it's likely the warranty will expire end of this month.

Re: Opinion about Gen. 1 702?
I'm sure that the warranty was probably limited to the orginal owner as well.
So the orginal non-lifetime warrantied rod sold MRSP for 129.00?

I still have the Gen 1 702 spinning in the Champion series I have not had any issues with it and it is still one of my main darthead rods.
