Punker Question????
Punker Question????
What rod do you use for to throw a punker? I have tried a couple of mine but I can't seem to get the right feel. I'm throwing the 6" punker. Thanks
Re: Punker Question????
For the 6" Punker I Love the Dobyns 735c. Big enough to handle any bass and small enough to make accurate cast. For the bigger Punkers I up size to the 797SBMT. Awesome rod for the big stuff.

Phenix Ultra MBX 700XH
It has all the beef you need to throw that Plunker and it is lightweight and very manageable..

Re: Punker Question????
Some were between the Dobyns 735c and 736c. For me personally I like the feel of the 735c. Its really what feels better to you. Hope this helps

Steve Beichman's 7'6" Swimbait Special SCR-751 EX-Fast tip! Great control for casting and slow dig and glide retrieve I use with the 6" Wooden Punkers.
When I'm tossing the lighter injected Punkers, I switch up to one of my Fenwick Elite-Tech ECSWB79H-F. This is a lil longer rod at 7'9", much lighter overall and has a very good tip action for the faster dog walking retrieve I use with the plastick Punkers.
