I was tired of spending all day on the Delta running all over the place just to catch dinks! I decided to spend the money and get a guide and deceided on Randy Pringle, Fishing Instructor!
MONEY WELL SPENT!
I can't (and won't) tell you how much I learned in 8 hours! As you all know fishing the Delta is an entirely different beast than our local lakes and the amount of trips it would take someone from the South Bay to learn what I learned in one session would not have taken years!
If you're having trouble understanding the Delta or need help with certain techniques...RANDY PRINGLE IS DA MAN!!
I was having trouble pitchin so we pitched until I got.
My only topwater fish last year, 10lber on a frog so we went over topwater (why, what, how, etc) and I landed an 8 1/2 and several other smaller fish on topwater!!
We had an absolute great day, I probably landed around 15 fish (lost count after awhile) with 8 1/2 and 5 1/2 being the biggest!
Even if I had not landed those big fish all of the tips, techniques, and wisdom would have been worth it!
Randy, your tip is in the mail!!
If you're thinking about a guide, 2 thumbs up with a big smile from me!

Sounds like you had a great day out on the water with the fishing instructor. Good guide trips give you information you can use for life. Congrats on your topwater fish and excellent day on the water.

That he is!!
I met Randy over 20 years ago when we we both gave seminars at a large weekend bass event at Clear Lake. I immediately knew he was someone special. We both shared the passion of teaching and getting folks excited about the sport of bass fishing. It has been a real joy to see his career blossom through the years. He is a real tribute to our sport!!

Re: That he is!!
While we haven't had the pleasure to fish with Randy, we can honestly say that he really is a stand up guy who's brain is so full of bass fishing skills that to be able to spend eight hours with him on the water had to be totally fun and knowledgable as ever.
We met Randy about seven years ago at a 'Fred Hall Show' where he was doing seminars and learned alot from just watching and listening to him during his time on 'the tank'....
Needless to say we were really humbled and very excited when he stopped by our booth to check out our baits. And not only was he the nicest of guys but offered to throw our baits in 'the tank' during his next seminar...!!! My brother and I were totally floored, and because of Randy's generosity he helped our sales at least double within that very hour. And that was a four day show. For a company just starting out in the seminar scene that was a memory we will never forget. And a boost of confidence we will always be in debted for.
It's too bad we live so far from Randy as he would be a dude we would love to fish with on a regular basis, but the west coast shows are always a mend to bring us together... and we look forward to the next one. Hope to see you there, Randy.....

Very good call Mike. Hiring a guide to help you out is money well spent. I have hired a few in my early days of fishing and the information you learn is invaluable.
Randy does a great job guiding and promoting bass fishing in general.
