I have an 07 Basscat Sabre. 150 opti. It has less than 90 hours on the motor. I have used it less than 6 times a year. This year I only used it to take my daughters tubing. They are getting older now and into athletics, which takes up a lot of afterschool and weekend time. I am considering selling it. My wife says no, but to me it is just taking up space. I can't see just letting it sit in the garage.

When is the right time to sell your boat?
Re: When is the right time to sell your boat?
Jon I thought about selling mine after moving back to NC as I hadn't used it for quite a while - trying to get situated after the big move, etc. Once I thought about it, I figured it was better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. So I kept it and am glad I did. It's paid for and I fished out of it quite a bit this year and am planning to fish the BFL's next year.
THink about what it would take in time, effort and money to buy another boat if you wanted one........

JOn,
If you can afford to keep the boat I would. If you would like to have the money and the space, then I'd sell it. The kids are only that age for so long and before you know it they're gone. You can always get another boat amigo, when the time is right.

When you can afford to buy something better OR when you are dead!
I wish I never sold mine.

Just mark it on the calendar to take it out.
By the time you sell and decide to buy again, it costs a bunch of money.
I go out in the morrow!
