$119 for the scale and the 7 culling floats, all fish safe (clamp on, not clip through). Anybody using them?

X Tools

Post by Morgan »

My wife had bought the scale for a gift for me, but I needed something to cull and stopping to write the weights was a major waste of time. I contacted XTools to see if they had an upgrade policy or trade in, and their Vice President contacted me. He said they didn't have any of those policys. He was wanting me to try their new culling system gripNweigh Pro, so he offered if I bought one, he would offer a choice of a 8"fillet knife/ dehooker combo or a pliers with sheath/dehooker combo as a thank you. Wow!

I just bought it, used it once and really like it. Especially how I can change the number of fish to cull, total fish caught, and top 5 weight . I also like the idea that it floats. One of my friends was using his Cull-em-rite and he lost his grip while weighing a fish, now it's at the bottom of Don Pedro.
One of the clips came off of a fish, so I don't know if I didn't have it on right or what. I saw a E50 shot on the tube this weekend where they were using the gripNweigh but the Xclips had rope on them? Maybe modified so they were not as stiff.
Hope that helps

XTools Accuracy?

Post by LHayes »

Was watching the FLW a couple of weeks ago and noticed that KJ was using an XTools grip-n-weigh. He made the comment that according to his scale, he had 17-2. His weight for the day ended up being 17-11. That is quite a difference. I dont have any experience with the product, but couldnt help but noticing; I am in the market for a good scale, and was looking at purchasing the XTools. It is possible that there was some user error. Would like to know if others have been seeing accurate (within reason) weights once they got to the scales.
