Catchin Crappie

Post by DAKINE198 »

My dad wants me to take him crappie fishing. Where and what bait is the best to use so he can catch some?

I know they have some nice crappie in Castaic Lagoon.

I imagine small red worms, half a nightcrawler, or crappie jigs and jigs with one little spinner blade (like a Blakemoore Roadrunner) would work. I caught a nice crappie using a 3/4oz jigging spoon, and Mark Poulson caught a nice one using a homemade popper while fishing a club bass tournament.

Head over to Lake Isabella, stop by Sierra Gateway Market in South Fork, pickup some minnows and head to the cages in Joughin Cove. The bite is ON
