GEN 1 HDS 5 help?

So last week when i would lift my trolling motor out of the water to set it in traveling place i noticed my HDS unit would go to the entrance screen what you get when you turn it on like it was resetting. Did it numerous times. Yesterday the screen just went away completely. No beeps on the buttons nothing. Like the unit is dead. I plugged in an older unit to see if its a short in the cord and it works fine.....Any ideas? How do i get this repaired here in San Diego?...thanks

That is a strange symptom creating a problem with the power on an HDS unit for sure. I don't have any options since you tried a different unit and it worked.

As for getting the unit repaired, you will have to send it back to Lowrance for warranty repair. The HDS units have a two year warranty. Please call Lowrance Customer Care at 1-800-324-1356, explain the problem and the agent will assign you a return authorization number, RA #. This RA # will direct the service techs to the notes in the system and repair the unit.
