Catching a plane out of Long Beach to SFO and heading up to the best bass lake in the world "Clear Lake".
Going to fish the best and most fun bass tournament on the west coast with my brother Albert one of the best bass fisherman on the west coast!!!
Damn am I lucky!!!

You guys that have not fished this event you are missing something special, Bill and the gang from Bobs Marine and Nor-Cal Bass Staff run this event like no other!

Good luck to any teams fishing from the So. Cal... Unfortunately my son and I can't make it this year. It is one of the best tourneys around. Larry and Norm couldn't make the trip this year a well.

Well we had a blast as planned, Bill and the Bobs Marine guys as well as Norvel, Tim, Dee and Diane from Nor-Cal put on a first class event as always!
First day leaders came in with almost 30 pounds and they were out in front by about seven pounds over second, they fell off on day two with only twenty pounds and came in second.

Pre-Fish was crazy with us having about 29 pounds for our best five on Friday, we just killed them on buzz baits and frogs along with us catching about thirty fish with four of them being 5.8,6.9,6.3,6.2 and a bunch of 4,s and 3,s.

But as we all know pre-fish and tournament day are always different as we caught them pretty good with a 6.3 on first morning, loosing three big bites and ended up with 20.34 for the day!
We followed that up with a 19.58 bag on day two finishing up with just shy of 40 lbs and missed out on making a check.
You had to have a 4.3 pound average to make a check and over a 5.0 pound average to to win it!

Clear Lake has come from being a great place to fish to being off the charts compared to any other body of water in the west; this includes the delta to which I love also.

One of the Sponsors was a energy drink called 5150 which was pretty darn good! I have never been a big fan of the energy burst drinks on the market, but ended up drinking a couple 5150 drinks each day because the just tasted great! So a big thanks to the 5150 crew!

All of you SoCal guys and every bass fisherman in the western U.S. have to make it up there at some point in your life because it is about as good as you are ever gonna see out here on the left coast!
