ABA Clear Lake

Post by fpomilia »

Thought I would give the ABA guys a heads up. Headed to Clear Lake to per fish for the up coming tournament on Sunday. Stooped by to see Jimmy at Clear Lake Bait and Tackle and found that the tournament had been cancelled due to low water conditions. It was later verified by Jimmy through Dave and Troy at Clear Lake Outdoors. Has anyone been notified? I guess we all need to contact Shawn to make sure. Tried to check the new web site but I am waiting for my grandson to help me navigate through it.

I'm not sure if this link will work for future news : it might only show current info.

It has been cancelled. I talked to someone at ABA main office and there has been several notices put out about it being cancelled.

Thank you for that link. I had problems doing it on my own. I never received any ABA e-mails and would have never known if I had not stopped in at Clear Lake Bait and Tackle. I do not check the ABA site on a regular basis. Thanks again.

I talked to Shawn . He was worried that if it got windy there could be problems with up coming storms .The casino ramp is fine but its only 1-2 feet deep in the flats just outside and that could be bad in rough water.5th street ramp has 6 ft of water at the end. County park 3-4 ft. Lucerne 1-2 foot,The creeks still are not doing much but the lake has come up about 6 inches. North end bite is picking up but be careful as there is some areas to avoid running fast. ABA did send out emails about the date change to 4/27

Not sure if it will be any better in April when it is rescheduled for a back to back weekend with another tournament with same trail. I do know it pissed off some teams and they are done with this circuit for the year. Not what we needed. I think it would have been fine. This circuit is not a rookie trail. Guys could have navigated fine. But not my call and you can't make everybody happy.
