24V or 36v Trolling motor

Post by adamsj13 »

I have a 05 ranger z20 and I currently have a 24v motor guide on it. I want to get a Minn Kota but not sure if I should get the 24 or 36 v. What do you all think? Should I get 45 in shaft or 52 in? What are your thoughts? Thanks

I ran a Minkota 36V 52" on my 520. You'll like the extra power and length in rough or fast moving water.

36 for sure!
45" is probably all you need.

You will not regret getting the 36 volt system. I bought a used boat that came with a 45" MinnKota 101lb 36volt motor, love the power but on rough days the prop bounces out of the water in the swell and you lose some control. I would suggest the 52" shaft.
