Be Careful Out There (Delta)

We pulled this outta the river, floating along with a bunch of hyacinth.

That must have been a bit of work getting it in the boat. Good citizen, thanks from those who travel the Delta.

No problem! It was probably around 50 pounds. It took the two of us to lift it out of the water. It was right in the middle of a narrow channel. I'm a delta rat and I feel it's our responsibility to keep our waterways fun and safe for all of us to enjoy. I've fished out several logs before but not nearly as large as this one. Be safe out there guys and tight lines!

damm... I remember last year my buddy pulled a bridge piling to shore. it was well over 20 ft long and not possible to lift out of water.

That Middle River section(some call it Connection) From Franks down to the Bridge before Mildred, can have some of the worst, hidden, floating stuff all summer long!

+1 on the thanks... that is awesome! That could do some serious damage there and even worse if causing an accident... already too many accident potentials out there so good deed done for sure.

Last fall found a whole giant tree floating over by Tower Park Marina, it was so heavy- tonnes, and easily three times longer than the boat. Luckily it already had a rope around the base or I would have not known what to do with it. Was solo and took me about 1/2 hour to trolling motor it over to the bank and wrestle it up next to an intake pipe and tie it up.

Don't know if the farmer would leave it long once they noticed it, it was probably liable to break the pipe. It was not there this spring. The rope could break too I guess. Was probably a great bass magnet for awhile. 8)

All I need to get into the money would be the four I usually get along with a 20# kicker.
