I caught a weird fish in the Delta

I was fishing Big Break over the 4th weekend and caught a weird fish.
it was longer than a LM and had a funny snout? Kind of looked liked a Pike I have seen on TV but without the teeth

I can tell you it is eating well, over 5lbs with a belly on it

Haha I caught one of those pike minnows out there last year on a jerk bait. Mine was 4.14# and had a fat belly! It was a good fight, it dove under the boat 3x. I thought I had a toad of a bass on but pulled up that thing!

If you caught it on a Rodstrainer or Persuader bait it was probly on one of the free ones they are giving away at the Hook Line & Sinker this weekend for their Grand Reopening! You bought three to get one free because it's a TAX Free weekend.

I netted a pike minnow for my dad years ago. It weighed 7 or 8 pounds!

I too caught one, but last month. It had a plastic note sewn onto a fin that read "Don't buy a rod until the weekend of July 12th, and then get it from the Hook, Line and Sinker as there is no tax". I thought it strange and tossed it back. (The fish, not the note, as I know Gene).
