Lowrance HDS-7 touch

Post by patque »

I recently purchased a HDS 7 Gen 2 unit and the mapping that came with it is not impressive. My question is will the card or disc that I was using for Navionics Hot Maps on my LMS-337c DF Lowrance unit be used on the HDS 7? :!: ][/b]

No, before I insert a card in there, I want to be sure it will take it. In the past with the older unit i have had some issues with card readers.

The only way to see if the mapping is better is to put her in and check it out. There should never be any issue just inserting a card into a reader. Especially a data locked card like a Navionics. Is your unit a Base Model or Insight model? I have found the Insight maps are just as good as Navionics and sometimes better on CA lakes.

Go right ahead. I've heard of no problems at all. Like NoCal said, when you go to your favorite lake, look at the detail on your map card and check out the Insight Mapping in your HDS unit, compare and use the one that shows you what you are looking for the best. Good advice NoCal!
