Elite 5 Troubles

just purchased an elite 5 with gps and chart plotter. was out at silverwood yesterday and the unit located me but the map didn't switch to the location. said whatever and started my day and got to my first spot and I turned it off and was never able to get it back on. it was frozen on the ELITE LOWRANCE screen when you first turn them on. Tried to turn it off and it wouldn't turn off. so I unplugged power and sonar and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. repeated this process multiple times with no solution. would sit on that start screen for hours if I let it...

My question is there a restart button or a fix to this problem? am I the only one who was had this happen?

This may be an issue with this particular unit. Please call Lowrance Customer Care, describe the issue to one of the representatives and they will help you. There are two numbers; 1-800-628-4487 or 1-800-324-1356

thanks for the reply ken. Think a soft ware update will be the fix. at least I hope!
