Seeking Info On Bass In Agency Lake, OR
Hey, I have been told there is decent largie fishing in the wetlands area of Agency Lake, Oregon. Since I will be staying in that area next June, am looking for info on the warm-water species, forage, launching facilities, permits and such. State of Oregon has been no help whatsoever. Anyone know those things?? Thanks in advance, Richard - Sonora

It is sometimes possible to get information from the resort when the lake is open.
resort - 541-783-2489
Should open from its winter closure before Memorial weekend.

Thanks WB staff for the input....search results
led me to Resorts and guides for Klamath Lake (connected by waterway) and area rivers only. Trout and Salmon specialists. "Ask Oregon" provided no response. Memorial time-frame too late for planning. Thanks.

The phone number should work for the Agency Lake resort. It should be open now, but the lake will be closed through the winter.

I am from Klamath Falls. Klamath and Agency lakes have a very very poor population of bass. Not saying you couldn't go out and stumble on a fish or two, but it's not the first choice of us local bass guys. ODFW did a study back in the late 80s early 90s and found the PH levels to be less than ideal for Bass. (https://nrimp.dfw.state.or.us/CRL/Reports/Info/91-6.pdf.) The sucker fish and redband trout seem to thrive but there are very few pockets around the lake that hold bass. We have a handful of other lakes within 30 minutes that have some great bass fishing though! Lake of the Woods and Howard Prairie to name a couple. Hit me up as you get closer to coming up and I would be glad to show you around.

Thanks To jsc11700 I Won't Drag The Ranger....
up to Chiloquin!! But, Jeremy, if you have a bote and are still willing to be the guide, PM me your contact info and I will contact you early June if all the current plans pan out. Thanks for the input. Just exactly the stuff I needed to know. By the way, finally heard from AskOregon.com. They agree with you! Richard - Sonora

What an awesome bass lake Klamath would be though, if they could thrive it would be an awesome venue for some big tourneys, and a financial plus for ol k-falls.the one thing I find weird is clear lake has some off the wall algae blooms as does Klamath but they survive.

This has always been a topic of discussion in the tournament community up here. Oh well.... There are definitely areas of the lake that if I snapped some pictures and posted them on here and polled what lake it was, Clearlake would probably be a top answer.scott h wrote:What an awesome bass lake Klamath would be though, if they could thrive it would be an awesome venue for some big tourneys, and a financial plus for ol k-falls.the one thing I find weird is clear lake has some off the wall algae blooms as does Klamath but they survive.

Agreed, I went to middle school and a couple years of high school in chiloquin and spent many days on the lake fishing for those giant rainbows wondering why there were not bass in there, amazingly similar to Clea r lake except winter time ice over.jsc11700 wrote:This has always been a topic of discussion in the tournament community up here.
