Powell rod warrenty change " "Beware" !

Post by bassrman »

Powell rod warrenty has changed from replacing a "original "Max" rod with a new "Max 3D" model" to the economy " Inferno" models " which they have very few models/actions ' the original Max rods I was going to warrenty don't even come close to the cheaper inferno models' ...this does not seem fair to me ?...

Did they give you an option to upgrade or anything like that? Seems most "lifetime" warranties end up not lasting all that long. Sorry to hear this. I have my share of Powell max rods. Not familiar with the quality of the inferno series or the price difference.

That must have just changed then because they sent me a 7343D max to replace my 734MAX with no questions asked last month.

I went on there website last week and printed out the warrenty claim form ' it said "original Max rods will be replaced with "Max 3D models" then I was ready to ship' & went back to there website yesterday" in bold red letters" it now said Max rods will be replaced with "Inferno rods" that does not seem fair to me ? I paid the same $ to buy my 735 Frog rod as they want for the 3D rods' & the don't have an "inferno rod that even comes close the frog rod ! plus no 8' cranking rod' to replace my 804CB ?..

Yes I just looked and you are correct. They are good folks and half the time Keith the owner answers the phone when I call customer service. I would call them and tell them your situation and they may change their mind??

I have half a dozen Powell rods, thanks to one of their pro staff, Jeff Jue. I'm happy to hear you got your issue resolved.

Keith has always done right with me. Great company and the 3Ds are excellent.
