I could not agree more. This should be a community forum for individuals to talk bass fishing and list items for sale, not for dealerships who get free advertisement and are looking to make big time profits on outrageously overpriced boats.... Just my opinion,, Tight Lines..

I agree to a certain extent.. I suggest putting the boat shops in their own DEALER forum. So if I want to see dealerships I can go there... But if I want to see private sales I can look at the those... I agree that the boat shops flood the classifieds ... Let them post but in a DEALER forum.

I agree also. I don't mind them listing, I just would like to have them under their own heading

WTH 48 ads from dealers on just two pages. They are now advertising their boats under a name instead of the dealership in an attempt to get you to believe its a private party. What the H** . They may be spouse's but that's no reason to let them hi-jack the free classifieds. Give them their own column such as craigs, bbc etc. does. I used to enjoy seeing what the fishermen had for sale. I enjoy westernbass but am about to move on. How do you get their (westernbass) attention! lfg

Folks,
Their in business and its part of the fishing industry.
If you don't like the ads then ignore them.
It's that simple....

Car ads are no different than online classified ads.

Then give them a separate heading.

Two points there popper. 1) deceptive advertising may be part of your fishing industry but is not part of mine 2) car dealerships normally pay for their advertising on-line or not. Give them there own heading westernbass so popper can enjoy all the dealerships super deals.

Deceptive?
Every boat dealer ad on WB clearly....shows the dealership.
Folks...
It's as simple as as not opening the ad.
-not rocket science...

Car dealerships are all over Craigslist.
Last time I checked it was free...

Don't want to buy from a dealership then look at private
Party ads only.

It's that simple....

Popper you miss the point completely. We are just saying it is annoying to have to sift through a bunch of dealership ads to get to a private party ad. I'm seeing some of these dealerships ask 25 to 30k for a 10 to 15 year old boat
with poor coppression and 500 hours on the motor. Rediculous!!!!! WB, MAKE A SEPARATE SECTION FOR DEALERSHIPS. CHARGE THEM FOR AD SPACE. LEAVE THE REGULAR CLASSIFIED SECTION FOR PRIVATE PARTIES ONLY! Just my opinion,,,, Tight Lines

Understood the initial post/complaint regarding Dealership ads.

In my opnion, scrolling your mouse to find a a private party ad isn't a big issue.
-Just means you've to "Read" who posted the ad.

Names of dealership are displayed very clearly on every ad.
-No deception as was stated previously.
There's nothing deceptive about advertising a boat from a dealership.

Dealerships advertising on classified ads pay WB monthly fees to have links to their web sites.
-Look to your "Left"
Therefore, they're supporting the forum we all enjoy for free.

Another example of boat dealerships advertising along with private party ads is Bass Boat Central and Texas Bass Forum.
-Never seen a complaint.........
And BBC gets dealership advertisement from multiple States on private classified ads.

If you don't like the product, price, or whatever the case just don't view the ads.

-Its that simple...
