Paradise will get clog and makes it tough getting out. They do try to clean the ramp around 7:30 a.m. by running a barge with the motor running and it will clear it up. problem is the hya colud be there when you come in later in the day. Have made it in out with my 2/4. Sometime the hya is on the ramp and traction becomes a problem so clear all that hya by the wheel better if you had 4/4.
Your going to run into that problem no matter where you go.

If this bad boy was used there would be a lot of chopped up vegies for sure. I do think its better than the harvester type. Could you get through with out water pump intake issues after it's done? Maybe. It would clear out the heavy stuff for sure and open waterways. Those darn seeds stay dormant for years on land just hoping to get covered by water to grow again.

Does any domestic livestock, like cattle, eat hyacinth?

Some countries mix it in as cattle feed but it has very little value as food for it. Hippos on the other hand love it. Info is out there about the "Hippo Bill" that after this plant was brought to this country as a gift in small pots it was looked at as a way to control the fast spreading plant to introduce them in the USA. It was almost passed into mainstream and only missed by a few votes, so it reads............

Man, I'd rather deal with hyacinth every day than have the "river horse" in our waters.
